Lucia Nigri is a PhD student at the at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. Her main field of research is Renaissance drama. She has published an article on intertextuality in John Webster – “Il vortice dialogico nel teatro tragico di John Webster”, Il Confronto Letterario, 48.2 (2007), 311-333 – and she has also written on the structural and psychological importance of maternal misrecognition of sons in early modern tragedies, Shakespeare included (forthcoming). She is currently working on the development of the figure of the malcontent in Elizabethan and Jacobean literature.
